I've been interested in 3D printing but am by no means an expert. I liked this book for it's broad stroke of the field as a whole.

Pretty decent book with brief introduction about the 3D printing industry, basic 3D modelling software, software choices for 3D printing, resources for 3D designs, multi colour and multi part designs and others. In my opinion, the author could include details about the importance of bed levelling while starting to 3D print an object, and also certain pitfalls of printing such as temperature control for different types of plastic filaments that are used on the same Makerbot 3D printer.
